Hui-a-tau Booklet 2014 – Toi Tangata

The annual hui facilitated by Toi Tangata (formerly Te Hotu Manawa Maori) and hosted by Orakei Marae, coincided with the launch of the Toi Tangata rebrand and new strategic direction within their sector and also included the introduction of two new education resources –  Toi Te Kupu (Nutrition and Health Maori Language Resource) and Toi Piki (Online Food, Fitness and Fatloss Tool).
This hui is a platform for discussing, developing and implementing successful Maori approaches to whanau flourishing. Maori nutrition, fitness and positive health principles were the focus this year for developing and building healthy whanau.

This action-packed 3 day hui-a-tau was filled with inspiring speakers, workshops, healthy kai and physical activity and looked like a fun and fulfilling experience for all involved.

I was tasked to create the Hui-a-tau information booklet that outlined the programme and activities available throughout the event and also informed the reader of Toi Tangata as an organisation, it’s team members, the purpose of the event, the history of the hosting marae, Orakei Marae and of those who would be presenting and running workshops.

You can read more about the event on Toi Tangata’s page here.
